Back To Work

After a longer than usual layoff, I went back to work when it felt like a Monday on a Thursday. Yes, I didn't post about the New Year's Day games. Did I watch them all, you know it.

Citrus Bowl - watched the first half. Came back for the delicious Michigan loss. Bama win, my pick.

Outback Bowl - third quarter, Minnesota surprised me with the win. Pick, Auburn.

Rose Bowl - maybe the best game of the season, but so long. Pick, Oregon.

Cotton Bowl - does anyone care about a Georgia/Baylor game?  Pick, Georgia.

What Did I Eat:  New Year's Eve food, and then my wife used her Instapot to make bean soup. So yeah, New Year's Eve food.

Cincinnati vs. Boston College

After eight minutes this game was on hold due to weather. I was watching at work. First day back since the long holiday layoff. Nice to come back to unexpected problems.

After a 90 minute delay, the Bearcats poured it on.  Have I mentioned much of my money has gone to U.C.?  No. 1 son is a graduate and the other is on schedule to graduate this year. U.C.!

There were about 200 people at the this game. Quarterback Desmond Ridder is good, the Bearcats should be favored to win the AAC next season.  You better win or you get this crappy bowl bid in Birmingham on January 2nd.

Cincinnati 38  Boston College 6

-My Pick:  U.C.

-My Bet:  U.C. -7

Game Notes

-Is Boston College a university or college?  The Eagles should not have been in a game. Their only score came off a blocked field goal attempt returned for a TD. Then again, this game should not happen, add this to the six games that could be eliminated.

Six games to eliminate
-Birmingham Bowl
-First Responder Bowl
-Camellia Bowl
-Cure Bowl
-Bahamas Bowl
-Red Box Bowl

-What Did I Eat:  Some pretzel chips and cheese spread after I got home.

-Bowl Swag:  Gift suite, coin, that college football 150 book again, bucket hat. Really, a coin and a bucket hat? Those sound like gifts at a scout jamboree or Moose lodge.

-Did you know Leonard Nimoy was a B.C. alumni?

In Search Of hosted by Nimoy was a favorite show of mine when I was a kid in the 70's, leading to my belief in Bigfoot. Have I ever told you about my Bigfoot encounter?
