That's A Wrap
Another bowl season comes to an end and for whatever reason, I remember it being more difficult to watch all these games. 39 bowl games and one championship game that I didn't watch all the way through.
No. 3 Clemson vs. No. 1 LSU
As usual, another four hour affair. Clemson had a spark to start, scoring first but LSU has too much talent and was leading by half. I made it to about three minutes left in the 3rd quarter and went to bed fairly confident LSU was going to win.
I really don't enjoy this game at all, it's always way too long and too late. Give me a good Belk Bowl on a Friday with a noon kickoff, that's bowl season. The games are all too long, can't think of one that played to three hours or under but at least most don't drag things out until after midnight. ESPN obviously doesn't care but I would do two things to improve this game for fans at home and on site.
1. Move the game to the Saturday before the NFL Championship games. More accommodating for fans to travel to the games if they also went to their team's playoff game and it's on a weekend. No one wants a college game on a Monday night.
2. Start the game at 6pm. That's it.
LSU 42 Clemson 25
My pick: LSU. I believe that makes me 30-11 picking straight up. I came in 2nd place in my bowl pool. It was a confidence points pool and the woman who won saved the title game for her top points game. I don't think that's the best strategy but it was hers and she won, good for you Becky! I have no idea who much money I won.
My bet: I hedged and took LSU -5.5 and Clemson on the money line/over parlay. A wash. I came out down about $12 after betting on every single game in some fashion. Not bad.
Game Notes:
-LSU quarterback Joe Burrow will likely be picked first overall by the Bengals. Hopefully they get some offensive linemen to protect him or he'll be running around like Andy Dalton. Welcome to Cincinnati Joe.
-What Did I Eat: Leftovers, roast chicken and pasta that I made for dinner for Sunday. Not too shabby.
-Bowl Swag: Nothing, this isn't a bowl game. The winner gets the spoils and a big ass trophy.
That's it, probably not going to ever do this blog again. Not enough eyes for the effort.
